If you look at the Notables Project:

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:Notables

It states:

Qualifications for Profiles

We use Wikipedia's standards for notability. Note, though, that many notable people do not yet have a page on Wikipedia.

So there are many people who have done "notable" things, but also many who are just an actor or just a singer, and have not done something notable. The easiest way to find a Notable is if they have already received a Wikipedia page, but if not, you need to use the Wikipedia standards and ask someone from the Notables Team to help if there's a question of notability.

Generally under Wikitree rules, anyone who has a WIKIPEDIA page is considered to be a Notable.

There are some exceptions, but they are discussed on a case by case basis.

By that token a lot of Internet celebs would have wikitree profiles and be notable. Good god. That means Pewdiepie could have a page here......
Well considering that Pewdiepie is still alive, his profile, if there was one, would be unlisted so I think he is safe - for now!!
Thank God for small favors. =)

I wonder if having an IMDB page would also count as notable.

Alas, there are no profiles for Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg, aka PewDiePie. But if you do decide to make one, please add the Notables Project as manager (co-manager if you like) as he'll be unlisted and Notable.

And having an IMDB page doesn't necessarily make you a Notable. Although it's a good step in the right direction. There are several actors, producers, directors, who had one credit to their name who get an IMDB page, and then vanished into Hollywood history, never to be seen from again. I'm not sure that qualifies them, but it would be a case-by-case basis for the one-hit wonders of the Hollywood scene.
