Can someone translate a headstone for me?

Question

Help, with a headstone inscription please.  It is in the Riverside Cemetery Colorado.  I want to make a profile for "My Husband" but that is all that is in English...but since we do not seem to be able to PASTE anymore guess I will download it to my profile...[[Taylor-25258 | Carole]]  Taylor-25258.55jpg

We can't see the image easily, since when we do visit the URL where it's located at WikiTree at:

The message we get is this:  "This image is privacy protected. Only the thumbnail is open. To view the full image and its details you need to be in the Trusted List of someone or something tagged in the photo."

Hopefully there is some way you can upload this photo to the G2G forum directly, so we can take a look at this headstone at full (rather than thumbnail) size.   

You can also go to Postimage.org, where you can upload your photo from your computer and choose 'direct link' when it is loaded, and then just copy and paste the link using the insert image. You will have to click it and resize if it's large, but then everyone can view the image easily.

one of these days I will figure out how to share a photo,  sorry.  anyway, I found the person on f-a-g that they are saying belongs to the headstone in question, and was able to add a profile for him,  [[Vauclair-2 | Charles Vauclair]]  thank you so much,  sorry again.  the photos are attached there. plus I did a typed copy in the bio.

I agree with Herbert's analysis. No genealogical information there, other than the indication of the existence of children.

However, note the word "lindern" in the inscription is a verb that should be recorded as beginning with a lower-case letter, not the upper-case L.

It's a book of children's poetry   from 1900, 16 years after Charles's death, with references (?) to dates in the 1880s and '90s. 

"Der Tod schlägt tiefe Wunden,

Das habe ich empfunden,

Seitdem ich dich verlor.

Ich weine mit den Kindern,

Gott mag die Schmerzen mindern,

Zu ihm seh' ich empor."

Death strikes deep wounds that I have felt since I lost you.  I cry with the children God may lessen the pain, to Him I look up.

It seems to be copied from an old monument in Brandenburg, but a lot of 19th century epitaph collections list it.
