The James Turner who married Mary Maria Short in 1788 was of Whitechapel, Middlesex when he married at St. Matthew, Bethnal Green.
There is a burial of a James Turner aged 63 years on the 23rd July 1807 at St. John, Hackney, Middlesex, but it is difficult to know whether this is the same James Turner.
It looks like his widow Mary Maria was of St. John, Clerkenwell, Middlesex when she remarried to Joseph Faint in 1812, and Clerkenwell isn't that far from Hackney
