According to the relationship finder, John Coe-992 is my 13th great grandfather.

Why then does it find that Coe-992's father, Coo-9 is no relationship to me?  Shouldn't it show Coo-9 as my 14th great grandfather?

Hello Cheryl.

You're right... and the relationship finder does find the relationship.

"2.They could have a common ancestor deeper than the 15 generations that were searched. Click this button to check 30 generations. Warning: This may take a few minutes."

Just click on the "SEARCH 30 GENERATIONS" button. You'll see the relationship like this:

The relationship finder only goes back so far, presumably corresponding to13th great-grandfather. Therefore, if you're looking for someone one more generation, it won't show up at all.

Thanks Ruben, I should have thought of that... can't remember all the variants on WikiTree.
