FYI: I just put a link in my Ancestry Profile to point to my wikitree Tree for DNA matches.

Question

I updated my Ancestry profile to have a link to my wikitree compact tree used for DNA matches on Gedmatch.  There is a place on all Ancestry profiles to put a link to your own webpage. so I did and it now points here to my wikitree. You actually have to look at the profile on Ancestry to get the link but I don't have a tree there I only maintain one here and won't always have a subscription to Ancestry, they do keep profiles though hoping you will return.  I thought this might be a way for my DNA matches on Ancestry to find us. Even if they don't have a Gedmatch account.

I have done the same thing! I also consider it my genealogical obligation to act as a WikiTree evangelist every time the question of tree storage and workspace comes up. And as an Open Source software engineer, my loyalty has multiple reasons and layers.

as a previous computer person I really appreciate all the hard work that goes into maintaining this system. I too think wikitree is spectacular and everyone should use it. :)
