I wanted to share this family photo of Rosa Weinhold with the community. Location: Nebraska.  Probably taken sometime in the 1910s.

My great-grandmother Pauline and one of her sisters goofing around with their mother Rosa (Goeke) Weinhold.  This is my first time sharing anything! So many of our old family photos are stiff formal portraits, so this candid is one of my favorites because it captured them just being silly and laughing!500px-Weinhold-121-4.jpg

Wow, I love this image showing two very strong girls giving their mother a ride in the wheelbarrow!  Nowadays, we don't so often see women out in the garden or field working in dresses, but clearly this photo came from a different place and time.

Something truly astonishing about this kind of casual photo is how rare it is for its time.  There weren't many photographs taken circa 1910--it was a kind of luxury of sorts--likely due to the cost of the photographic paper and developing.  But clearly this photographer felt inspired by the playfulness of mother and her daughters here to snap a candid picture in the moment of such fun!

I love seeing how happy Rosa is in this picture, which is truly lovely to see--and it's evident that she loves her daughters and her daughters must have truly adored her, too!

Thanks so much for sharing this awesome photo--it's a winner!

Looks like they’re having so much fun! It really is unique. Like you said, so many old photos are so formal. Thanks for sharing this with us.

And.... if I haven’t welcomed you to the WikiTree community, then... welcome! Glad you’re here.

What a lovely photo, thank you for sharing it with us, what a beautiful, happy and playful family, I'm sure those two young lady's didn't push the wheel barrow very fast though!
