I see a note in Cooke-43 (Ruth Cooke Tinkham) that her last name at birth is actually not known?

Just wondering what the current consensus is...if most research points to whether or not she is or isn't a Cooke? She is my 8th great grandmother, so just trying to update my tree accordingly.

Jacob Cooke did have a daughter Ruth, but GM for Hezekiah Tinkham lists his wife as Ruth (___)  Possibly someone has connected the two without any confirmation of the link?

Plymouth - V1  p 666: RUTH the daughter of JACOB COOKE was born the 17th of Jan. 1665 Massachusetts: Vital Records, 1621-1850 (Online Database: AmericanAncestors.org, New England Historic Genealogical Society, 2001-2016).

MF:12:54 (Silver Book)(1996) Ruth Cooke dau. of Jacob and Damaris (Hopkins) Cooke, b. Plymouth, 17 Jan 1665; living 11 Dec 1675. It is possible that she was the Ruth who married Hezekiah Tinkham, but proof of this has not been found.

Okay, thank you both! I believe Ruth's profile has her as married to Helkiah. Should the marriage be deleted? (Helkiah is my 8th great grandfather, so while I'd love another Mayflower connection if Ruth Cooke was indeed his wife, I also want to be accurate.)

I've made the changes discussed here, and added notes and sources to the profiles for Helkiah Tinkham and his wife Ruth (Unknown).  

WikiTree will no longer show a false connection to two Mayflower passengers through this couple.  If proof can be found, then the two Ruths can be merged.
