Hi! I'm hoping someone can help break down my brick wall. I've been trying to figure out who my great-grandmother's parents/siblings are for years, without finding any verifiable results. Her name, (as I know it to be), is Ella Victoria (Gunter) Pruitt.
There's been speculation on Ancestry .com that she might have been Mollie Victoria (Gunter) or Victory (Gunter), but I haven't found anything to solidly support either theory.
The first piece of evidence I've found of her existence is the 1910 US Census Report, which shows her as Victoria Pruitt. Based on the report, she had been married to William A. Pruitt for six years and resided with him and their two children, Grace L. & William G Pruitt, in a rented home in Greenville County, SC. They were employed at a cotton mill, and both were born in South Carolina, as were their parents.
Ella Victoria (Gunter) Pruitt's family and life, prior to 1910, is a complete mystery to me.
I'll be incredibly grateful for any help with this!
*Ella's oldest child, Grace (Pruitt) Turner Stanton, lived in Greenville County for most of her life. She married Roy Turner in 1922 and had one child, Mildred (Turner) Tinsley Cifers. In 1927, Grace married William Pearson Stanton. She passed away in May 1976.
