Greetings! I am new here. Just joined WikiTree today.

Question

I'm a fairly experienced genealogist, working on my tree off and on since 2001 or so. Took a long break, but then got back into it after I took a DNA test last year. I rejoined Ancestry, purchased Roots Magic. Working at knocking down a long-time brick wall for my maternal great-grandmother. There is obviously a lot to learn here on WikiTree and I'm a bit overwhelmed at all the features! Once I get a little more comfy finding my way around here, I will post about my brick wall.

Welcome, Jackie! Yes, if can be a little overwhelming at first. Start slow, take your time entering your info, and use the help pages lots!

Jackie, you’ve found a really wonderful community, many of them well versed on WikiTree Policy and Style to help you get things right. And you’ll also be amazed at the skills folks here have in digging up the most obscure information about people in our One Tree.

My best advice: ask, ask, ask. No dumb questions here.

Welcome!  

There is a small learning curve to using wikitree, but do not be intimidated by the coding when writing profiles.  You will pick it up very quickly.  A great way to learn is every time you see a style you like, click the edit button and see how it was done.

Welcome to Wikitree! =D Have a great time and don't be afraid to ask questions. There's a bit of a learning curve with this site, but, if you are familiar with Wikipedia's coding you should be fine. Enjoy and feel free to call in on anyone for help!
