Newfoundland featured profile: The Pentecostal Pioneer Alice B Garrigus

+5 votes

To celebrate the very first steps in creating a system of religious categories for Newfoundland, this week's featured profile is of Alice Belle Garrigus. Alice was a truly formidable force in establishing Pentecostalism in Newfoundland, and left a legacy spanning generations. From her profile, you can find links to the Pentecostalism category, and a history of the Pentecostal church in Newfoundland.

If anyone has relatives who were ministers or laymen in any of the different denominations in Newfoundland, let me know. I'm excited to start pages for Catholicism, Church of England, Methodism, and Salvation Army!

Any improvements to the profile of Alice Garrigus (or linked profiles and pages, you'd like to make) would be welcome, of course! And if you know of a profile of an interesting or famous or notable Newfoundlander; or you've worked on a Newfoundlander's profile you're proud of, or you've just seen a great profile or page that you think needs recognition---send me a link, and I'll maybe put it up for a featured profile! (I'll try to not feature my own work, for the most part, and look forward to hearing from other researchers.)
