Hello Grace, I see you are still a Guest member so the first step would be to complete the membership process. I have tagged your question to the Greeters so someone should be along soon to help you get started.
Welcome, Grace! Don't hesitate to ask any question here on G2G and you'll find many willing helpers. Doesn't matter if it's a question about how to maneuver around this site - as C. said, it is a steep learning curve; or if it's a brick wall question, we're happy to help out.

Hi Grace and welcome! I recommend getting started slowly, building your twig of the big family tree backwards from yourself. There are a lot of free genealogical resources to get you started, like https://www.familysearch.org/search/hr/search and you can visit your local library for free access to Ancestry.com

We also have Mentors here on Wikitree who'll be happy to help you!

Welcome to Wikitree. It's a steep learning curve. Most important is to source everything as you go along. None of us "know" from personal experience where or when we were born or who our birth parents were. The handy source for that is your birth certificate which is also a starting source for your parents (an official document with their names on). If you are married then the marriage certificate is the starting source for your husband. With living people you will pretty much be on your own because of privacy concerns but after that there will be a lot of help here. At the moment you are a guest so think about volunteering to help create the tree. Enjoy yourself and sources, sources, sources.
