Appreciation for this fabulous, accessible WikiTree project

I'd like to thank Janet and the team that put this big project together. I've only been a member for a week, yet it's been a big help to #1 have access to more than I've been able to see on other premium sites with monthly fees - including Latin America, #2 have the ability to use GEDCOM files (and clear explanations for how to best use them) and #3 be able to upload photos and make a real contribution to the concept of ONE family tree, vs. multiple trees that can get confusing.

I look forward to what may be possible in becoming an amateur genealogist, and appreciate the Honor code and spirit of collaboration in the project.

With a name like Nystrom I just knew there had to be Swedes in the line of your husband.

I looked around a bit and found Greta Lisa Hammarström in your tree. Her line is on the CD database Smedskivan (I have version 8) so she was easy to check. I then found her father already in WikiTree (with a Swedish manager), so I connected him to Greta Lisa.

Then, however, the father given for Greta Lisa's father in WikiTree does not agree with the father on Smedskivan. I guess I should look into that.

I can see that you have access to some sources at Ancestry, so I wonder how far back you have pursued the Hammarström line. We should perhaps open another G2G question?

Thank you for making the connections of Greta Lovisa Hammarstrom and her father, Eva. Pleased to meet you online.

I've uploaded two photos from my work with sources, including a family tree depiction that shows relationships and children. I will go ahead an post a G2G question with Nyström and Hammarström in the titles. I am not entering all the siblings and children, at least not yet, but am tracing the line back as far as 1700 for the male line. Greta Lovisa Hammarstrom's line, however, I can trace back to my husband's 7th great-grandfather Per Olofsson 1678–1740  BIRTH ABT 1678 • Knåda, Ovanåker DEATH ABT 1740 • Edsbyn, Ovanåker - sourced through family trees on

Question: What is a "CD database Smedskivan" ?   Is that a program for ancestry that you run locally vs. online?  One of my aunts did a lot of research on an older Windows program and my brother couldn't open any of it on his older equipment, hence the beauty of GEDCOM files that transfer, at least, and are somewhat usable here.
See you online, Eva!  ~  Deborah Nystrom (Wittbrodt)
