Hannah Leonard or Lorance?

Hey,

I've been sitting on this puzzle for about a year and I thought I'd bring it up because I'm still no closer to figuring this out. Check this out. A year ago I was researching my ancestor, Eleazer Fisher. Profile here: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Fisher-3102

He was in a Fisher genealogy book married to Hannah Leonard. Book here: https://archive.org/details/fishergenealogy00fishgoog

That's all well and good. I add him in and then I go check out geni. Geni, in the mean time has different sources and calls her Hannah Lorance. Source being found on her page: https://www.geni.com/people/Hannah-Fisher/6000000003148518412?through=6000000002891244377

The reasoning seems to be that certain books have her as Hannah Lorance and some as Hannah Leonard. Other sources say that there were two women married to Eleazer named Hannah Leonard and Hannah Crane.

This is all very confusing. I am not sure which end is up when it comes to this lady. That's why I put research on her on hold until today. I brought this back up because I saw another tree with Hannah Leonard as married to Eleazer and she reasoned it's in the DAR records.

So, I ask if we can put this to bed. I am still a wee bit lost.

The Fisher book has evidence for Lawrence.

The Vital records say otherwise: https://archive.org/stream/vitalrecordsofwr00wren#page/292/mode/2up

https://books.google.com/books?id=8kNMAAAAMAAJ&lpg=PA62&ots=oc5Ot_NgJD&dq=Hannah%20(Leonard)%20Fisher&pg=PA35#v=onepage&q&f=false

On another point the Hannah Leonard whose parents were James and Hannah and married John Crane had children in 1698, 1692 (twins) and 1706. So this casts doubts on whether or not she could have had kids with Eleazer.

Some say that this Hannah is the right one married to Elizear: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Leonard-6665 and is the mother of their kids.

Some say it's this one: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Leonard-3367

The Fisher genealogy book just says "Hannah Leonard". Nothing more. So, it's a bit of a puzzle. I should also note that The distance between Dedham and Rehoboth is 36 miles and are in totally opposite ends of the state. Which makes this lady a hard sell as a wife: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Leonard-6665

It is possible Leonard and not Lorance. I have a Hannah Leonard in my mother side of family. My mom surname is Leonard.

Right. It might be a different Hannah Leonard than the ones we have here.
Hannah that married John Crane probably conflated with Hannah that married Eleazar as both men were alive at the same time and divorce was very rare among the Puritans/early New Englanders
Not to mention the fact that there were probably a ton of Hannahs. We should take distance into account.

Yep. That is the right Eleazer. We just gotta find the right Hannah.

I feel like we're on a 1700s dating game show. We have to consider a few things. Distance between towns is a big thing. Dedham and Rehoboth are far away from each other.
SAR app clearly says Hannah Leonard married 1688
Right. But, which Hannah was it?

The Hannah from Braintree was born in 1671. In 1688 she'd have been 17. Braintree is also a LOT closer than the other town.

Braintree and Dedham are 13 miles apart. So THIS one might be her.
Their son Eleazar born 1688 died 1769 married Rachel (no last name listed)

Their grandson Eleazar born 1730, died 1804, married Mary Daws
The book for "Loran" clearly says document was damaged. I would disregard it.  And it is a transcript rendering of what was probably an old faded torn handwritten with quill pen church record. Not reliable.
Right. They had a son Nathaniel: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Fisher-11884

Going to bump this up as I still am having a little trouble and I think Elieser's profile needs a little cleaning up since he's married to two of the same lady. One of them has to be accurate.
