Not that I can see! If the surname is of particular interest to you, you might want to look at starting one yourself!

Good luck!

I'm not aware of a name group. There is a handful of Dennistons in Australia; aside from my immediate family I'm not aware of any connection to them. Our family came to Australia in 1876 from Elland in Yorkshire. The preceding three generations came from that area.

I'm more curious of your second enquiry on the Townsend name as my great great aunt  Charlotte Denniston married a Townsend (I reckon around the 1860s). I believe they lived in the Halifax area.

Is that relevant to your enquiries on both families?

Family Tree DNA has a Dennison Patrilineage study, must be a Male Dennison to be Y DNA tested. you can have an autosomal study done, To Narrow down who the father's were of the Dennison line, If there are any descendants of the Orange County, New Windsor line that can be tested.  John B Robb is the administrator of the study. contact,   look up the Denniston patrilineage on Family Tree DNA
