I can't access the Venables one name study, anyone know why not?

It's called Venable, the American variant.

Could be convenient - somebody could do a separate Venables study for the English family.

Some of the ancestors of the immigrant have been given the American spelling.  Can't be certain there's no primary source for that - generally the primary sources have every possible spelling, and then some.  But it's never used in English secondary sources.

Which way did you try to access it? It looks ok to me. I put in Venables as surname on a profile search then hit the Venables Project box that comes up under the count of surnames at the top right. That took me straight to the One Name Study Page.

Thank you Lynda, I'll try that.  It's just that I have put Venables one name study on my profile, but when I click it it dosn,t take me to the site.  I cannot edit it to change it if it is wrongly categorised.  It worked ok at first but then somebody changed it and it hasn't worked since.

On your profile (which you should be able to change) it looks like it is malformed:
One Name Study=Venables.

what it should be is

Thank you Ros, I have put what you have said,  {{One Name Study|name=Venables}}  but it still dosen't give me access to the site.

I just went to your profile Eileen and clicked on the Venables sticker you have there. It took me straight to a page for the Venables Name Study. Maybe you are having a browser problem or need to clear your cache.

Er...actually, it does.  I just tried it from your profile.  You have two ways of doing it:

1.  Click on the little picture and it will take you the main page of the Venables Name Study

2.  Click on the category above it [[Category:Venables Name Study]] and that will take you to the category page, which also has links to the main page plus all the profiles.

If nothing happens, try pressing F5 or Refresh to make sure your browser isn't sneakily trying to show an outdated page which doesn't work.

Ooh lovely, the little picture has appeared, that wasn't there before and now I can access the name study.   Thank you so much for your help Ros, I don't know how it appeared, but thank you and everybody who has helped.
