Has anyone run across a good resource for 19th century schools that taught African American children?

I've been accumulating a bunch of great data on free children of color in the 19th century who were attending school from federal census records, but not sure where to start on linking them up to the schools they attended. I know there are some places, like in Benzie County, Michigan and Geary County, Kansas, where the schools were integrated (even in spite of some very bad behaviour from European American parents in Geary County) and other places where they weren't. Anyone seen a good resource for this? I'm looking for schools in almost every state, but especially Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and New York.

There was a school for African American children in Piqua, Ohio on Boone Street near the corner of Broadway. I recall it was mentioned in the history of the town.   That school was located a block or more west of the house where the famous Mills Brothers grew up.

I have not ben in Piqua for some years, but the building stood when I was there hast.
Thank you, Don!

For Southern schools during Reconstruction, I found this book to look into:

First school for freed persons in the South. It’s in Beaufort County, SC. Union troops took that area early and the school started right after. Ran for many years until a  public school was built on St. Helena Island. Still there and now a National historic treasure. The Brick Baptist Church is adjacent, built by slaves and given to them during Union occupation. MLK, Jr., met here to plan strategies for the Civil Rights movement.
