My dad just told me on facebook that the Toledo Mud Hens game on Aug 17th will be having a Polish Heritage Night. For about $33 a ticket, there will be a pregame Polka music and Stanley's market buffet of keilbassa and perogis. After the game there is supposed to be fireworks.
It sounds like a cool way to celebrate heritage and maybe a good place to meet that "cousin" you matched with, or find some people in the community that maybe aren't online or doing DNA.
I'm 1/8th Polish immigrant to Toledo Ohio, so I'm hoping I'll be able to go. Plus, who can say no to Stanley's keilbassa?
I wasn't sure about putting this on wikitree, but I really want to know more about my Toledo Polish family. I barely know the names of my eight fourth-great grandparents on that branch, and only from recent DNA matches do I know that much, and I don't think I know any of the fifths in those lines
