The project has put a lot of focus on the ancestors of US Presidents/Vice Presidents.   It is now time to work on their descendants.   Are you a descendant?   Let us know which family you are working on.  Let's see if we can find some descendants that connect to your tree!

I am related to all but 7 presidents. The others are all cousins of varying degrees.

The closest of my presidential cousins Hayes, Cleveland, Taft, Grant, FDR 7th cousins. Adams is currently disconnected for lack of proof but i believe probably 4th cousin I have a John Adams Sr. And Jr. And I believe President John and my John Sr were first cousins, their fathers being brothers. But no one here at Wikitree has made the connection yet. Even though there is enough circumstantial evidence, since preseident John’s father had a brother named john, and My john adams father was also named john, everybody all lived in the same town during the right period.

Anyways back to list Fillmore is 6th cousin, and Nixon and Washington are 10th cousins.

The 7 presidents I am not related too are: Andrew Jackson, Martin Van Buren, William Mckinley, Woodrow Wilson, Harry Truman, Dwight Eisenhower,  and Donald Trump

I am related to most of the American Presidents, except for a few - most notably our current 45. No loss there.
I have started a new question, this one appeared to be unclear.   I was asking if you were a descendant, ie grandchild or 1st cousin of a president.   We are well aware of how many people are related to US Presidents....that is a fact!
I'm 2nd cousin to George Washington. We are both related to Augustine Warner, Jr. George was the son of Augustine Washington>Bob's maternal g-mother's (Bessie) father was Wm. Leonidas Taylor> her g-grandfather was Robert Perry Taylor>Ann Lewis Taylor was his grandmother>Ann was the dau of Chas Lewis, Sr > his mother was Eliz Isabela Warner Lewis > Eliz is the dau of Augustine Warner
It's me and Barack baby! Even though it's 10th cousins once removed!
What does that mean?
The question is asking if one of your ancestors is a US President.
The DON is related to me 2x; through his fathers surname and his g-g-gma, Susanna Bechtloff….my 4th greats were Trump and Bechtloff in Pa...

I am related to 19 Presidents that have open profiles.

3 of which are related to my mother's paternal line - the Perry's (Johnson ,T. Roosevelt and Reagan).

The rest are related to my paternal great grandmother's line-the Foote's (Adams, Harrison, Filmore, Pierce, Hays, Garfield, Arthur, Cleveland, Taft, Harding, Coolidge, Hoover, FDR, Nixon.

Of the living Presidents I know I was related to Ford and Obama, not sure if any others.

I thought Presidents would all have open profiles?

I'm cousins with Bill Clinton's descendants through his marriage to Hillary.  That said, there wouldn't be much to work on, given GDPR restrictions and the small size of the family.

There is, however, another Clinton family I'd like to help with, and that is the family of Vice President George Clinton.  I'm especially interested in tracing the descendants of his daughter, Cornelia, who married Edmond Charles "Citizen" Genet in 1794.

I am the 6th great grandniece of President John Adams through his sister Margaret Mary Elizabeth Adams who married Thomas Justice Pullen. That would also make me the 1st Cousin 7x removed of John Quincy Adams.

My paternal great grandmother was Myrtle Mae Pullen.

Bloodlines of 42 of 43 U.S. presidents (exception Martin Van Buren) are great-grandsons of King John of England (signer of the Magna Carta).

I was thinking he might be a good person to put at the bottom of wikitree pages on degree relationships.

Unfortunately the above has been proven incorrect, just as many articles debunking the information.

Added parents, but as noted, the Aunt and Niece still appear to be confused based on sources added.   Please let me help.
No I have straightened it out and they are mother-in-law and daughter-in-law who both married a Robert Washington ... a Senior and a Junior.

Don't get confused by the Find a Grave memorial that has attached Robert Jr. to his grandfather Lawrence, instead of his father Robert (Sr.) ... this is prooved by the gravestone inscription which gives Robert (Jr.)'s father's name as Robert (Sr.).

Thanks for attaching those parents.

I am related to a few U.S. presidents, but my most recent link is to Barack Obama, through his maternal grandmother. Our common ancestor is Nicholas Perkins. The other connection to him, is that his mother and her family once lived in Ponca City, Oklahoma, and her father worked in a furniture store owned by my cousin. The genetic link is on my father’s side, but the Ponca City aspect is on my mother’s side. What a small world.

Edwin Conway, Sr and Martha Eltonhead are my 9th great grandparents by their daughter Eltonhead Conway that married Henry Thacker, Sr.

I am cousins with Pres. James Madison and Barack Obama through the Conway line and the two Lee's that signed the Declaration of Independence through the Eltonhead line. My mother has a proven royal line by Douglas Richardson that comes down to several presidents being kin from these royal lines.

I first got interested in genealogy when I heard that my Granny Jackson was from the same Jackson family in Northern Ireland that produced President Jackson.  In the last couple of years I have taken up researching my Jackson line.

Unfortunately, it may be that not much will ever be known about President Jackson's paternal family.  He lost his father while a toddler and his mother while a teenager, so presumably all he knew about his Jacksons was filtered through his aging memory of whatever his mother had told him and his brothers.  Jackson himself showed no interest in connecting with cousins, he only wrote one very brief account of his Jackson side, and almost none of it has ever been substantiated through primary records (in spite of significant searches for said documents).  So little is known, even the names of Jackson's paternal uncles and grandfather are disputed.  There are currently multiple profiles on Wikitree claiming to be his Jackson grandfather!

But here's why I don't really care that my family lore will probably never be confirmed or disproved.  I found the ancestral Irish townland for my Jacksons in 2017, and with it I found a bunch of cousins with paper trails and matching DNA segments.  We're now a big bunch of penpals, and it's great fun.  And before we found each other, most of us had concluded we would probably never find Jackson cousins.

But maybe the most fun I'm having is by using my family lore as genealogical evidence!  See, a man named Robert Jackson wrote from Pennsylvania in 1822 to then General Jackson, claiming to be the general's uncle.  The letter was saved and is in Jackson's correspondence, but unfortunately, Jackson never gave his opinion about the contents of the letter.  It does have some tantalizing commonalities with his own account: Robert says he was one of four brothers and that Andrew Jackson's older brothers Hugh and Robert were born in Ireland and at sea, respectively.  He also writes that he had received three letters from Andrew Jackson's father before he passed.

So I started researching Robert Jackson, and I found one big problem with his account:  evidence indicates that Robert was from County Tyrone, and no document I have seen or heard of connects President Jackson to Tyrone.  But guess what:  my own line comes from Tyrone!  Lots of families claim descent from Jackson's grandfather, but families from Tyrone claiming kinship with President Jackson are very rare!

So I have been working on trying to prove that my Jacksons and Robert were related.  For instance, in the records of Carland Church, to which my Jacksons belonged, there is the birth of a Hugh Jackson to Andrew Jackson in 1760. The father Andrew disappears from the records in the mid 1760's, at the same time that President Jackson's father emigrated.   This could very well be the Hugh Jackson who Robert believed was President Jackson's older brother.

In the Carland records is also the birth of Andrew Jackson to Robert Jackson 1765, and Pennsylvania Robert had a son Andrew born in the mid 1760's.

I know of a few Jackson men in my line, but none responded to my inquiry to see if they had interest in y-chromosome testing.  And I probably won't pursue that further until I find a Jackson descendant of Robert.

I guess I'll wrap up by saying that President Jackson himself had no known biological offspring.  Lots of people can confirm relationship to President Jackson's mother, Elizabeth Hutchinson Jackson, or to his wife Rachel Donelson Jackson, but as far as I can tell, no one alive can confirm a connection on Jackson's paternal side. (There are claims that Jackson's y-chromosome is known, but such claims seem to be based on the supposition that people know who Jackson's paternal uncles or grandfather was.  And solid proof just isn't there.)

Yes, President Harry S. Truman is my 6th cousin via Robert Tyler m. Susannah Duvall; and John Tyler, our 10th President is also suppose to be related, but I  don't know the connection.

Up thru Obama all Presidents were related to John I of England except Martin Van Buren who was Dutch. My Paternal side per 23&me = 2 Adams,Franklin Pierce, James Buchanan, William McKinley, Woodrow Wilson,Zachary Taylor, Thomas Jefferson (8). Maternal side per Ancestry.com Obama's mother and both Bushes.  So far 11 in all. We have Isabel Lincoln and many relatives from Lincoln, Lincolnshire England..so I am researching Abe. Also Kennedy's and Fitzgerald's so I'm researching John. The Kennedy Clan tree in U.S. is private - which makes it hard to connect. Some of our Kennedy relatives are Scottish and descend from William I the Conquer (Maternal side).
I am a cousin to 37 US presidents. Of the remainder I am related either by marriage or more distantly  to all.
