Wikitree does not take uploads of raw DNA data. What you do is register which tests you have taken on your own profile. After about 24 hours you will see the theoretical DNA trail propagated along the lines in the tree. To analyse DNA matches and confirm DNA evidence you will need to use the results at the company you tested with or another site such as gedmatch.

I have tried to add my dna # and upload it to wikitree but i must be doing something wrong. i put my gedmatch # in but I have a different name here than on my ancestry dna does this make a difference please, would be grateful for any advice. thank you Vicki
To add your DNA test information to WikiTree from the drop-down list under 'Add' near the top right of your profile, select 'DNA test information'. That will take you to the page where you can add information about the DNA test that you took. Once you enter the test information, be sure to scroll down the page and click on the button that says 'Add test for ____'. Then, as others have said, you will have to wait for up to 24 hours to see your DNA test information appear on your profile and your relatives'.

It takes up to 24 hours for the DNA details to be propagated through the system - so check again tomorrow (24 hours from now) and your family members should show up with DNA links, You DO need to be patient!!!

Are you sure you have added the correct DNA test details?

You do NOT upload the raw DNA data to Wikitree. You ONLY add the DNA test details. This means the company and test type.

Your profile is NOT Showing the DNA tested badge which you would get when you add those details of whatever test you took.

Your DNA test will not show who you are related to. It will only show who else took a DNA test that you are already related to.

So you need to make as many connections as possible in your tree, then as other people, who are connected to your tree, publish their tests, you will begin to see the possible DNA matches.

But this doesn't mean you will actually match. It means you might match.

If this is you

the system doesn't know you've been tested.
