Rescue squad needed for 11 month old who vanished into thin air

I'm *STILL* working on extending the family of Maurice "Footsie" Britt (the NFL player who won a Medal of Honor in World War II, and ended up as a Lieutenant Governor).  There are extensive family members, with many records easy to find.  I have had occasional head-bangers, though, and this is one of them.

I have lots and lots of records for Robert Ricks and his wife Sally (Jenkins) Ricks, as well as for the first four of their five (known) children.  The fifth is a total mystery - the only place Davey appears is on the 1910 census, recorded May 5, 1910, when he was 11 months old.  I looked through the entire United States and can't find another record of any kind for him on familysearch.  I don't want to add his profile without a credible birth or death source, so the linked profile is his father's.  I'm hoping someone can find out more about him - right now, I suspect he died between 1910 and 1920, but can find no evidence of that either.

WikiTree profile: Robert Ricks

Is it possible the name Davey can also be Darcie?

In the 1910 census, Davey was 11 months old and there is a burial on findagrave for a Darcie Ricks born 1909 and died 1912, buried at Walter Chapel Cemetery (same place as Sally).

Great answer T !

Taking a closer look to the original document of the 1910 US Census, line 44, the name reads Darcy, not Davey.

Original doc.:

The "v" of the census taker is very different as can be seen on "Harvey" (line 35). There are many "r", like in "Charity" in the last line of the page.

That, plus the fact that his mother was buried 2 years later in the same place he was, I think, fills the bill.

FAG record for Sallie:

WOW, T, you absolutely nailed it!!!  Thank you so much.  You are truly amazing!!!!!

... and Rubén, THANX for corroborating it!

that's why is so important to look at the document images for oneself :)
