Myself: Mark Morey

My Parents: Colleen Carroll - Philip Morey

Mother’s Parents: John Francis Carroll – Dorothy Page

Sibling: Mary J. Carroll (bookkeeper) Born: 1897  Died: January 22nd 1933

--- Below are people born in Ireland and died in the United States ---

John Francis Carroll’s parents: John J. Carroll – Margaret T. Ryan

John J. Carroll’s parents: Timothy Carroll – Mary Flynn

Current Challenge: None of the U.S. records indicate what county in Ireland anyone is from.

What national irish online sources are there to look up just a name and approximate birth date, perhaps combined with a marriage record or census record?

Or who knows an irish geneology person who is savvy and quick and can help me locate the county and parish level for these ancestors?

Here is the best info I have for those born in Ireland:

in Genealogy Help by Mark Morey G2G Rookie (250 points)

John J. Carroll – Margaret T. (Ryan) Carroll (Married in Springfield, Mass. 1895)

John J. Carroll (Gardener)

Born: 1860 Died: August 6th 1841

Margaret T. (Ryan) Carroll

Born: 1870 Died: December 7th 1930

Additional Siblings:

Timothy Carroll (laborer)

Born: 1863 Died: March 4th 1913

John J. Carroll’s Parents: Timothy Carroll – Mary (Flynn) Carroll

They were born and married in Ireland, she died in Springfield, Mass, and I suspect that he died in Ireland.

Mary (Flynn) Carroll

Born: 1827  died: March 25th 1892

Timothy Carroll

b. ? d. ?

Margaret T. Ryan’s Parents: Francis Ryan – Maria Regan

They were born, married and died in Ireland I suspect. No dates or ages.

To view Irish Birth, Death & Marriage register entries (FREE) see https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/civil-search.jsp

I have used that site before, and just did again with a number of queries and I keep getting zero results.  Is there a person I can work with who knows how to use the site?  I dont seem to have the knowledge yet.

Mark

Hi Mark, many of the volunteers on wiki-tree are savvy and quick   but you need to start the effort by inputting at least the profiles of your grandparents. Many times the clues you seek are in the profiles of aunts and  uncles. Hope you enjoy the search.

Hi Sheila,

I just added all the profiles, how does that look now?

Mark
Looks good. One of the valuable tools on wikitree is the link on the lower right side of each profile under Research "RootsSearch ..." I just used this on Mary Jane Carroll (1896 - 1933) to start. It provided her birth record. Step by step more info will appear, although I may be offline for the next few days.
