Can you give a wee bit of background on what is being opened recently and why it is not a privacy concern. I'm sure it is not, but just curious

Profiles that have a birth of 150 or more years ago OR a death date of 100 or more years ago should by default be open.  Public profiles had almost all the information visible anyway, we just couldn't fix it. So by opening them, the suggestions can now be fixed.
Initial opening of profiles when we moved the privacy from 200 to 150/100 was based only on Birth/Death dated entered on profiles.

I prepared the lists of profiles without dates, that were surely born more than 150 years ago based on the relatives dates. We are opening them in groups, that are verified and opened. For public profiles we checked just some of the profiles, and for private profiles they were all checked, since by opening them previously private data is now visible.

I could give you the lists, but it is not worth looking at them. There were significant reduction in profile not opened, and big increase in 13x errors, since most of this profiles have no dates and are now opened.

We will continue this effort, since it also reduces the number of OPRs. I already extended the algorithms, to check for dates in 2 generations, so more profiles will be opened.

I wonder the same thing.  How were those 60K profiles identified as openable?  I'm just curious about how the member permissions and privacy concerns were resolved.

Edit to Add:  Aleš answered while I was pondering the question.

Most of this profiles were opened in the first batch If you look, you will find some dates in relatives.
