I'm getting an "edit conflict" when trying to add my uncle to my grandparents.

I've gone through it multiple times and can't see what I'm doing wrong. I'm trying to add my uncle Ossie Thomas Clark b 1903 to my grandfather Henry Calvin Clark's profile, get it all filled in and get "edit conflict". I've successfully added most of the other children without any problems.

That's an indication you already have a tab open for the profile from which you wish to generate the new one.  Finish editing the original tab, save those edits, and then add the new profile.  Good luck!

....a little more explanation.  If you are busy editing a profile and suddenly you need to add a sibling or so you need to first close that tab by saving it as it is.  Then create and add the new profile, and then you can return to the first profile and finish your edits.
Thank you Vincent, but is there a way to add a child without the parent's profile being open? I wasn't working on my granddad's profile, I had just gathered the information about my uncle together and wanted to add him, so opened granddad's profile and clicked "add child".  This is how I've always added children before. Do I need to do it differently?
The problem is likely that since you intend to add the sibling from the mutual parent's profile, while still having the original sibling involved in an edit could cause the conflict.  After all, the new sibling will be added as not only a child but as the new sibling which is being edited.  Solution would be to save the sibling as is, add sibling (even from father is OK) and then return to the profile of which you were working).  The new sibling won't display yet until you close and reopen it.  Otherwise, the sibling is there in the background and after you finish your edit, close and reopen and the sibling will display.  Good luck!

Sometimes this happens to me to - I don't think you're doing anything wrong! If I've already clicked the button to create the profile, try going to the relative of the person (if you were creating a sister, try going to the brother, for example). It's possible the person was added but the wrong page came up. I've made many duplicates this way by accident. I hope this makes some sense. In the worse case, try reloading and start again.

Good luck!
