Trying to find out where Jane Rogers (b. 1855) came from and who her family is

jane rogers born 8 Feb 1855 England married in 1876 to hogan michaelson born1851 norway. thay came to the usa about 1880 and settled in desmoines iowa found them there in 1885 iowa census any help to find her home will be great :) thank you

I can't find a marriage for them in England which would be a starting point.  Do you have any information on where it was?

ok my grandmother told me she was called mary jane. but her cousins have told me she was called jane.  but i did find her listed as mary in the 1920 us census, now for were thay was married grandma say thay married in norway after hogan got out of the norway navy. this is only hear say i still havent found anything proof. i do know hogans family came to the usa while hogan was in the navy in 1871 thought canada i havent found were hogan and maryjane came over yet:( i do prity good with the states:) i get lost outside the usa

the name hogan is from his mothers last name Haageson
and michael is from his father last name Mikkelson
and then cames Mikkelsonhe was born in 1851 Haugesund, Rogaland, Norway

only when he come to usa was the name changed to hogan michael michaelson

I've had a good look for all variations of those names with no success, so it looks as if he didn't stay in England very long, if at all.  Really to to look for Mary Jane/Jane without him as well is a hopeless task without more information as to parents etc.  There is the birth in Bath 1st quarter 1855 but you have no guarantee that she is the right one.

hogan's last name in norway was Halversen, he was the son of halver, till he came to usa then took fathers last name michaelson

I googled the name and found the site where the burial details had been added by yourself.  I have searched extensively for Hogan/Haagen/Haakon Michaelson without success on marriages or the censuses, but I have found a birth in the correct quarter of 1855 for a Mary Jane Rogers.  However, I am assuming that you don't know who her parents are, so proving that this is the right one is not going to be easy.  There were five other births in that year with the same name, but that is the only one in that quarter.

If however her name is Jane Rogers then there are three possibilties;

Jane Rogers Blackburn 8e either page 223 or 283 - it is unclear

Jane Rogers Weobley 6a page 470

Jane Roagers S. Shields 10a page 449
