How can I prove my Great Grandma was part of a family to another relative?

Anna Jane Brewer Smith Brewer-4198

Find a grave says she was born in Pulaski because that's what her death certificate says, but it also says parents unknown. I need help proving parentage.

She was enumerated in the 1900 U S Census as a daughter in the household of Jackson Brewer (wife Mary) in Lesterville, Reynolds County, Missouri. See familysearch.org record for 1900 census. Gives her birth as August 1880, not May 1879 as stated in FaG. Her name appears as Jannie. She is not listed in the Jackson Brewer household in the 1880 census for the family, then in Union, Iron County, Missouri. The census was taken 9 June 1880, and the youngest child was Lilly, then 10 months old. This may indicate that the 1900 census birth for Jannie in August 1880 is more accurate than the Find A Grave date.

The censuses gives names of other siblings of Jannie, which will help to confirm this is the "right" Anna Jane.

Unconfirmed: ancestry.com gives parents' full names of Andrew Jackson Brewer and Mary Angelina Johnson.

P.S. Unless they moved right after the census, it is likely she was born in Iron County, not Pulaski.

It appears that the person deleted the parents that are clearly identified in the census. The 1880 and 1900 census agree with what you have presented. The party who deleted the parents did not give a reason, either in changes or a message on the profile page.Did she provide names of alternate parents?
No and refuses to even consider my case. She says her G-gma would not have a sister named Anna Jane (Jannie) b/c her name was Anna Josephine. They called her Annie.
I am so glad someone else sees what I see! Jannie married my G-gpa John Thomas Smith in 1905. She died in 1910 so not much info. This person has destroyed a bunch of profiles i worked hard on . What do I need to do?

Donna, if the new information I posted in a 2nd answer does not convince the other party that there is an honest confusion between sisters Anna Jane and Anna Josephine - the new Find A Grave fro Anna Josephine should be sufficiently convincing - then your solution is to refer the situation to https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Problems_with_Members. Someone will help you work through this situation.

Am I looking at the right people?  Brewer-4199 has daughters Jannie (Brewer-6027) and Anna Josephine.  How is Brewer-6027 not a duplicate of Brewer-4198?  Brewer-6027 cites the 1880 Census, but gives no link or data, etc.  1900 Census has both Jannie (1880) and Anna (1888).  1880 Census has neither, as previously stated.  The 'source' for Brewer-6027 is clearly incorrect.  This shouldn't even be a problem.

I put a comment on Brewer-6027's profile about the incorrect source.

Donna, I think I see the problem. In the 1900 Census, there is a daughter listed as Jannie, with a birth in August of 1880. ALSO shown in that census is a daughter named Anna, age 12, born circa 1887-1888. There is a second Find A Grave memorial for TA DA! Anna Josephine (Brewer) Brawley, born 27 June 1887 (per memorial) who married Jacob Brawley in 1911. She died 30 June 1976. Could this be the party your relative is confusing with your Jannie?

PS: The new findagrave for Anna Josephine says her mother was MARY ANN JOHNSON. Mary Ann's Findagrave has a copy of her death certificate that says she is the widow of JACKSON BREWER. Seems to be Jannie's parents named in the census.
Exactly. Anna Josephine is her G-GMA & Anna Jane is mine. She had a DNA test done & must not have paid attention to duplicates. She says she will consider adding my Anna Jane if I can prove her parents were Andrew and Mary. She has taken spouses and children off my profiles!

They were both AJ, like Dad.  smiley

I had empathy for this problem, because I'm an AJ, too.smiley

She cannot detach without reason and proper sources. You should file a Mentor Intervention Request before this escalates into a bad mess

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Problems_with_Members

A mediator will review all and intercede to see that everything is proper

I hate to get anyone involved. She is the only Brewer family member I know of that has taken a DNA test. I would prefer to handle it myself if I can. She has already accused me of "upsetting" her. But a mediator might be necessary.
She has begun detaching from profiles managed by other members. You want to assure these other PMs , maybe, that it is not something you approve of.
Based on this info, Eddie, I think it is necessary for a "problem with members" intervention. This is more than just a disagreement between two members. The other party needs to know she can't detach without proving the detachment and leaving notes/sources in the profiles.
Yes, I recommended Mentor Intervention.
