<nowiki> is not working in comments [closed]

I want to put text in a comment without it getting marked up as a sticker & the <nowiki></nowiki> prompts have no effect - I see a post from 2014 complaining that this is broken but I don't see any updates since.

How can I post, in a comment box, how to write a category or sticker without it getting marked up?

Ouch.

I got as far as using { instead of {. Seems to work, once. But if you go back into edit mode to edit the message after posting it, it displays as {, which is wrong, and when you save again, you're back to square one.

But usable in desperation, if there aren't any better ideas.
If &#123 = {

what = } ?

do you need &#123 x 2 to get {{ ?

{ = {

} = }

But there is no need to replace all of them. If you replace just the first one it'll work.

You can enter

{{One Name Study|name=Beatty}}

this way

{{One Name Study|name=Beatty}}

But remember, if you edit the comment after saving it´ll go wrong. So you'll need to replace the first " { " with " { " again.

Very nice - thanks Ruben and RJ; I've saved this to my cheat sheet.
