Sir Brudenell White is, to me at least, Australia's greatest-ever soldier.  He is the 'father' of the Australian Army.

 - Eowyn, this is a 'hard' ? to answer - - the range is vast - - However, I will vote for = John Monash GCMG KCB.  = as we come to the end of the Great War, he was a force to be reckoned with -

- General Sir John Monash GCMG KCB VD was a civil engineer and an Australian military commander of the First World War. He is considered one of the best Allied generals of the First World War and the most famous commander in Australian history.
