Brick Wall: Caswell Prentice b. 1810 Kentucky - whereabouts after 1860

Caswell Prentice was born 1810 in Kentucky to Daniel and Levina (Kinder) Prentice, he married Rebecca (possibly Carpenter or Fry).  He moved to Missouri about 1838 and is documented until the early 1860s.  Neither he nor his wife or youngest children have been found on the 1870 or 1880 census.  However, his wife and children are found on the 1900 census, some in Missouri, some in Oklahoma.  Hoping this will strike a chord with someone who has seen this family in their own searching of the region in the late 1800's but didn't know where they belonged.  Also, some records list him as Carroll Prentice due to a poor transcription of the 1850 census.  Thank you.

Thank you Wayne, I appreciate your efforts.  It is the 1870 & 1880 census where they disappear and resurface in 1900.  I'm not sure if they purposefully evaded the government after the Civil War or if they just happened to live in an area easily missed.

Did you check to see if Caswell fought in the Civil War to see if he had a pension or if Rebecca a widow's pension? This might help be of some help! Good Luck!!!
