Brick Wall: Rebecca (Carpenter) Prentice b 1813 in KY - Who are her parents? [closed]

Question

Rebecca Carpenter (possibly Fry, Frey, Frye) is the spouse of Caswell Prentice. She was born in Kentucky and died in Oklahoma Territory just prior to statehood. Her maiden name is in question as the death certificate for two of her daughters are the only documentation including this information. However, the two death certificates do not agree on the name.  She appears on the 1850, 1860 and 1900 census.  Missing are the 1870 and 1880 census, and neither her husband or youngest children are located during those dates as well.  Who are the parents of Rebecca?  Could her maiden name be Zimmerman (German for Carpenter) or Fry, Frey, Frye?  Any suggestions would be appreciated.  Thank you.

Family search indicates that her maiden name is not clear, as she is listed as Carpenter in some sources and Fry in others.   I am not sure how you can be confident that her maiden name is Frye/Fry......
