Could we list Mayflower Project under Project Sources in Category: Source

It seems the Mayflower books should be listed under Projects under Source. There is a Mayflower project. They list some but they are not always using the nice convention with a page for the source. There are a lot that could use the source convention, like all the pink and silver books. There are a couple under I think Massachusetts for the births etc.

There is a Bibliography section in the project that could be used for a start.

Bibliography

The Greater Society of Mayflower Descendants is publishing a series of books called "Mayflower Families through Five Generations." These books, often refered to as the "Silver Books", are sold by online booksellers and online at AmericanAncestors.org. Some local public libraries have these books.

The Great Migration Begins series, published and sold by NEHGS, contain biographies of each Mayflower Passenger and their known children. Often primary source documents are cited as references. There is a subset of the Great Migration Series has been published recently. titled "The Pilgrim Migration". It covers the immigrants to Plymouth Colony and their wives and children.

Saints and Strangers by George Willison has some background material about the Pilgrims' time in Holland, the perilous adventure and the first years of the settlement.

Bradford's History is recommended reading. I believe that it can be read on line.

Bangs, Jeremy Dupertus, Strangers and Pilgrims, Travellers and Sojourners - Leiden and the Foundations of Plymouth Plantation, General Society of Mayflower Descendants, Plymouth, Massachusetts, 2009 Details from the Leiden, Netherlands archive records for those who came to Plymouth Colony.

Excellent idea Sue. Thank you. I am overwhelmed by how much you've done. On the Mayflower Project Page at the bottom is == Useful Links == and == Bibliography == I think some of this (if not all)  you've already included on the page. Would you check to make sure all that stuff on the project page is on the new Resources Page. Then I'll eliminate both sections and add a section higher on the page to link to your resource page.

Thank you again

Moved the links over, on top. The Bibliography I used to start the space.

Feel free to add/change. We just have to not be making a change at the same time!
I have been going down the Mayflower people and copying sources. I try to check to see if they have listings in sources with the template.  I use the template when I find it.  Probably still more to be found. A lot of the Mayflower info is at paid sites, so a reference instead of a link to online info. It might be useful to create templates for the silver books with a what links here, that would make it easier to source. Don't know if a comment about editions would be useful. People may be using other than the latest edition. There may be people willing to do look ups, another section? Would they be swamped?

Not a bad idea, I think. This would mean someone would have to create the Source free-space pages for all of the sources, if they don't already have one.

The space is created and on the list under sources, projects, now add stuff the space.
Sue,

Thanks! I haven't joined the Mayflower project (yet) but have just run across some profiles that certainly need work (say 3 to 5 generations down). This should really help.
