Question

Thank you Isabelle for information on merging Hans Georg Schlappi.  I must of done it wrong because I have his name as Schlappi or Schleppi even though it became Slappey in America. Is there a way to fix it? Deanna Clark Summers

Oooh, thank you, Deanna!

If the merge went "the wrong way" you have a profile with a last name which is not the best we would wish. It is still a valid name for the family. It is not an easy decision to fix it or not because all name changes create redirects in the database (quite a complex concept) which are not wanted. I really don't know the definitive answer there.

I thought I was merging into mine, it had the correct name but there is a reference to the Schlappi and Schleppi names in the Other names box. The name is still Schlappi in my profile view. First time I ever made a merge. Thank you for your help.
