Locations and the google link.

I am revisiting my profiles with a view to orphaning a good number. I am checking that my locations and everything else works before I say bye bye.

My attitude that the main profile is purely indexing and I am checking the location via the google maps link. A number have needed tweaking. to find the right area. Historic links usually check out but may need slight adjustment if say a church no longer exists. Inserting the local area instead usually solves this. The church then goes in the bio. etc.

So is it possible to have these links on the editing page? or is there a technical reason why not?

It's a pain having to go to the main page each time to check if an alteration has achieved what you want.

This is really a good check to do as it prevents the location being in the wrong continent ;-)  or having numerous options. An index is of little use if it doesn't do it's job or is ambiguous. OK I know google mapping isn't perfect no mapping ever is. but it is a damn sight better than some of the locations we have to grapple with when looking at merges.

Oh! Can the icon be a little bigger?  I guess most people havn't spotted it ;-)
