I was asked over the weekend by a family friend why I go digging into past family seems soooo boring she said.
This is what I told her .
I don`t want to forget who came before me. or have my children or grandchildren to forget. I want the TRUE stories of my family not forgotten. ( yes there maybe new information come out later as more ways come to lite on searching) But at this time here and now this is what I have,
I guess you could call me a archaeologist in away.
She said does not make since to her looking back .Nothing comes of it.
I just looked at her and said in your eyes yes and other I suppose But I guess since you brought it up and it just dawned on me,It takes VERY SPECIAL people to do what I like to do..I told her I really can not explain to you how some people LOVE to do what I do. I am grateful my son likes to hear about what I find or what I am working on. He says that is so cool.Then we always laugh and make comments when we do something we say IT`s in our blood. then laugh. My sister even makes a comment when her children or grandchildren even when she does something or relates to something she comes back It`s in the blood. I told her don`t delete your families history they lived in their time`s laws and how they lived are totally different then what we live in. As when we are gone and in 100 / 200 years will be different then what you or I live in right now.
I showed her the wikitree site. She was surprised. She even made a comment how the site actually makes the people , people. Today she called and asked I can talk more to her about this . As I told her You can lead a horse to the water but you can not make her drink. So, today I decided to call me archaeologist of my family history
