Joseph Lavigne and Mathilde Lavoie are the parents of Joseph Lavigne who  married Christie Deschênes, daughter of Firmin Deschênes and Madeleine Pelletier, on 11 November 1877 at Sainte-Luce parish in Frenchville, Aroostook, Maine.

suggest tagging Acadian project as well, from the link E Martin gave to other question, Mathilde Lavoie was from New Brunswick.  

I find no marriage for a Joseph Lavigne with a woman named Lavoie in Drouin's database.  The name Lavigne could easily be a dit name, it is rampant in that use.
