I am looking for more information on the ancestry of John Cooper, who settled in Ashland County, Ohio in 1822.

Question

John Cooper (born 1799) was the husband Nancy (Van Tilburg) Cooper,  father of Henry Cooper and grandfather of Harpster Cooper, also of Ashland County.

We have this lines of Coopers all filled out from John Cooper through his present descendants, but the trail goes cold previous to 1822 and John's moving to Ashland County. I would love to know his place of birth, his parents' names and acquire any additional narrative about him or his earlier ancestors.

Thank you so much for your interest and help! That is the John Cooper I’m looking for. In fact I added his profile. And I have actually gotten to see his headstone with my own eyes.

What I am hoping for is to find out who his parents were and where he specifically was born. John was the first of a continuous line of nine generations of Cooper men who have made their home in Ashland County. I am the seventh generation of that line.
