I am descended from Nathaniel Wallis b 1749/50 in Connecticut(?), fought in the American Revolution (New York 13th regiment Colonel Yates 1780) and was an early pioneer of Pulteney in Stueben county New York around 1810/12. He married Lucy Pelton from Groton, Connecticut but there are no early records of him, no birth records, marriage records. I have found mentions of Nathaniel Wallis in several books, but I have found there seems to be many Nathaniel Wallis/Wallace in the Tolland, Windham and other Connecticut locations. The earliest record is in the 1790 census where he is in Ballstown, New York. There is a second Nathaniel Wallis (1743-1814) living in Pittstown (just next door), Rensselaer, New York at the same time. The second Nathaniel Wallis is where I found the reference to my question above.

This book, "Wallace History - Robert Wallace and his Steuben County Descendants and elsewhere", is a family genealogy book that has been passed down through our family for several generations. Info has been put together, over time, through family reunions that have occurred for over 100 years. I still have some questions about the generations before Nathaniel Wallace/Wallis, which I have been trying to chase down myself.

Do you have the parents of Nathaniel Wallace/Wallis born 1750 (possibly Connecticut) and died 1836 in Pulteney New York?
