In and shows up as the LNAB, but the husband has been filled in?

Is this something  aleš intends to work on soon?

Don't quite understand.  Could you link to a profile where this is the problem, please?

E.g. Mary, LNAB Smith, CLN Smith. Spouse: John LNAB Jones CLN Jones.  Can I search for Mary Jones with any hope of finding her?
Mary should be LNAB Smith, CLN Jones.  If someone put her in as LNAB Smith, CLN Smith, you just change it. You can change the CLN, just not the LNAB (unless you are the PM, of course). You could try searching for her, especially if you had a birthdate/location.
Doesn't that depend on the local conventions for the profiled individual, Ros?
lots of times and places women did not take the husbands name remember?  I know I was shocked too but it was not usually done in many couples
I realise one should just change it and I do that" but I have to know that Mary Jones nee Smith once existed or exists and some women are shocked by being “forced” into a name change.

I wonder if Aleš will tackle this problem.
Point is, there's no way to search for Mary Jones and find the Mary Joneses who don't have Jones in any of their name boxes, either accidentally or deliberately.

This matters for finding duplicates, if somebody imports a profile with only the married name.

And of course a lot of the maiden names are Unknown.  So if you don't want to show Jock Nock's wife as Jean (Unknown) Nock, she'll have to be Jean (Unknown) Unknown and you'l never find her.

if you don't want to put a married name in the CLN box, you can add it as an OLN.  Then it won't appear anywhere except the main profile page, but it'll work for search purposes.

But that brings up the other oddity.  The OLN doesn't appear in the search results, so Mary (Smith) Smith aka Jones will only be listed as Mary Smith.  If you don't know about this, you might not realize that she's the Mary Jones you're looking for.
