New user, just saying hello!

Question

Hi! I'm new here.

I'm from Finland. I've been on Geni.com for a while and building on the tree there, mostly researching my Greek Catholic relatives. It's a challenge because the original documents are mostly written in Russian and/or Slavic, in cursive, with the pre-1918 alphabet. I'm loving it!

I'll be adding to the WikiTree slowly to make sure I've got all the sources, converting the dates from Julian to Gregorian, creating place names from scratch... Hopefully, I'll be able to volunteer to some projects later. I've looked at the Finland Project and will be following the conventions, even if I have to go and change them myself

Welcome aboard! Hope you enjoy working here. It is a really helpful community. I do hope to get to Finland someday. We have a friend who is Finnish and her stories make me want to go.
