Looking for a Martin Fitzgerald married to Mary Ange Lespade in South Africa

Question

I have an Ancestor, Martin Fitzgerald (My Great Grandfather) who was married to a Mary Ange (Ann/Anne) her maiden name being LeSpade.

Mary was born either in Mauritius or the then Cape Colony

He was born around 1856 and died in 1888. He got married in 1881 in Port Elizabeth, South Africa

They had two Sons, in South Africa, Albert John (My Grandfather) and Ernest Martin.

I have reached a block with Martin and have not been able to go further back.

If anyone can help I would be most gatefull.

What religean were they.Fitzgerald does not sound Dutch.Could have been

part of English Military,that stayed in South Africa.Do you have his death

record.???

He was buried a Catholic. As for the military I do not know, sorry.
