Any information on James Ellison, b. 1800-1805, VA,

The surname as come down in my family as "Ellyson" but I'm seeing it in records as Ellison.  He was my g-g grandfather and I believe he was a shoemaker.   His daughter Mary Jane (Jenny) m. James Thomas Dickinson of Louisa County, VA. He m. Martha Ann Mahorne o5 Aug 1822 in Henrico Co., VA. but she does not appear in the household in the 1850 census.   I've also seen her given name as Mary or Margaret.
