Is Neil Armstrong related to :Captain John Armstrong married Bridget O'Donnel in Ireland

I've only been able to trace back to his great grandfather Stephen, born in Ohio in 1826. I cannot trace back farther, nor have I been able to trace John and Bridget's descendants forward.

Thanks. We were always told in our family that our grandfathers sister Bridget O'Donnell married Captain John Armstrong in County Mayo Ireland. And that they were related to Neil Armstrong. I had heard that his mom Viola Engel did a family tree but I can't find that.
