Has anyone else seen that the body of Sir George Yeardly of Jamestowne, who died around 1627 may have been found in Jamestowne.  It has not yet been proven to be him but they suspect it to be.

Yes, I did see the article.  Very excited to see DNA results!

Hah, I actually have a plausibe descent from him.
That is impressive!   I hope more are found nearby. I need to go to the Clayton Library just to look at those books.  Have missed a few weeks this year, but must not stop digging.

I hope you find the connection through your DNA.  Let us know.  ISOGG puts some articles on facebook.

Will watch with you.
Many on Wikitree have some kinda of connection to him.  My 9th ? Great grandfather is in a record where a calf was stolen from Yeardley.
Yes, probably many on Wikitree are descended from him.  Maybe the stolen calf can be found. Love the stories that were written down for us.

My married name (1st husband, now deceased, and father of my two

Spencer daughters, now married.  I have done some research so they will have it.  It is a very distinguished lineage.   I will have a look at your Roach

family and let you know.  By the way, my second husband is Coughlin,

and we have no children, so he is not on my gedcom.  It was too confusing

for matches.  Thank you for this information, and I will have a look and let you know.

Here's another link since the Washington Post article is behind a pay wall. Looks like results may come this year.
