Dear Joe,

Here is a likely listing for your family.  It indicates that Lawrence was born in Rhode Island, USA.

"United States Census, 1910," database with images, FamilySearch(https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MPX3-4FP : accessed 25 July 2018), Leander Demars, Burrillville, Providence, Rhode Island, United States; citing enumeration district (ED) ED 61, sheet 17B, family 370, NARA microfilm publication T624 (Washington D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, 1982), roll 1437; FHL microfilm 1,375,450.

Do these family members sound familiar?  Then Rhode Island is where you should look.  Hope this helps! -NGP

I can find no birth record on ancestry.com

Here, in 1930, Lawrence is enumerated next door to his parents and his household has his wife and daughter.

I have come across this document and it sounds good but my confusion is from conversations with my mom. the names that floated around where George Napoleon DeMars, Gurti or Gurty, which do not appears on this document but on others that do not list him. They are more than likely related but I don't know how to put this together. A birth cert would do this. then I can search for the parents birth records. and work my way up.

Since Leander was rather older than wife Mary E., could there have been an earlier marriage for him?  Here is a George Napoleon, but his birth date is in 1882.

"United States World War I Draft Registration Cards, 1917-1918," database with images, FamilySearch(https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:KZN6-SRS : 13 March 2018), George Napoleon Demars, 1917-1918; citing Athol City no 12, Massachusetts, United States, NARA microfilm publication M1509 (Washington D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, n.d.); FHL microfilm 1,684,564.

Hummm.....

Or, maybe Joseph & Malvina  - they have the Canada French connection, and maybe to Napoleon DeMars, also.

"United States Census, 1910," database with images, FamilySearch(https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MPX3-VMR : accessed 25 July 2018), Napoleon Demars in household of Albert Bouchee, Burrillville, Providence, Rhode Island, United States; citing enumeration district (ED) ED 61, sheet 13A, family 253, NARA microfilm publication T624 (Washington D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, 1982), roll 1437; FHL microfilm 1,375,450.

Looks to me like Napoleon married his next-door neighbor, Mary Bouchee (assumes facts not in evidence!). -NGP

[AND no Lawrence in the vicinity]

I will go with Leander record. Thank you. we will see what that produces.
A name came up several times in my searches that might be Leander's wife.   Keep an eye out for the name Mary Elizabeth Trechette.  Nothing definitive, just a bunch of "could be". -NGP
