Project Coordinators do things such as:

  • Answer questions from those who are interested in the project.
  • Welcome new members and show them how they can contribute.
  • Coordinate members who want to work together on the same task.
  • Monitor the project's G2G tag to help ensure that project-related questions get answers.
  • Make sure that WikiTree Leaders are aware of project members' issues and concerns.
  • Those with the Project Coordinator badge can edit parents on Project Protected Profiles.

Fundamentally, project coordination is about communication. Communication is essential for collaboration.

See the badge page for the current list of Project Coordinators.

Hi Amy,

I think 6 months is probably adequate and enough experience using WikiTree to be able to do the tasks and show motivation to help out. Thanks for asking!

How long must one have been a member here in order to do this job? - Amy

See reply right above this one. I posted in the wrong area. Sorry--you'd think I'd know better, right?
Ok. Thank you!

I’m interested... Are there more specific rules, guidelines and expectations I can read up on?
by Kaylee Robinson G2G6 Mach 2 (27.6k points)
Hi Kaylee and thanks! I sent you a private email but will answer here this way. The general guidelines are posted at the top of this thread. Projects are at liberty to work out their own plan for accomplishing project goals. Our goals are posted on our project page. The PC (Project Coordinators) and I will work closely together to assess where we are and decide together how to go forward. I would expect PCs (we can have more than one!) to be upfront with me about what they would love to do and what they would not love to do! Start with something you can get excited about.

People who volunteer as PCs are often tapped to become leaders but not necessarily and certainly not required of anyone.
