I have generated a GED file of 4600 people and it will not upload because it is too big. ?

You are still a Guest member. You need to finish your registration by adding research Tags and volunteering. You will not be able to add your family tree to Wikitree until you are confirmed as a Family Member. Then I agree with Lynda. Try an upload of no more than about 50 people to see how the system works.

I would recommend that you process your gedcoms in smaller chunks. It will be rather time consuming to deal with so many people in the comparison process before you can begin to see the effects of the gedcom additions.
