Is there a project that covers these pre-1700 people?

I want to help contribute to the deep genealogy on our shared tree.

1.) Geographical region and time period:  Lyme, New London, CT

2.) Some example names and dates:  Raymond

3.) Source(s) for my information on them:   Prior research on Ancestry

Before I get started adding and changing profiles, can you tell me if there is a WikiTree project that would cover these people? If so, how do I get in touch with the project members to coordinate and collaborate on the profiles?

Lyme, Connecticut, is covered by the Connecticut Project. I'm the leader.

Not everyone who lived in Connecticut pre-1700 needs to be under the direct auspices/management/protection of the project. If you see the Project box on a profile, you can contact the project by leaving a message on the profile in the comments section. If you run into a profile that is controversial and you think needs protection, let me know. I'm also the co-leader of Puritan Great Migration Project.

In general, feel free to update profiles in Connecticut that need proper sourcing and more information. Ask yourself: Does what I'm adding add value to the profile. Always, always source your updates/changes/facts/statements. Before you make major changes like parents make sure you attempt to contact the profile managers. It's always polite to contact managers if you're going to do a major overhaul.

Pre-1700 profiles should be sourced using quality sources,: vital records, town histories, genealogical journals. "Prior research on Ancestry" is rather broad. Some of what's on Ancestry is great: in Connecticut the Barbour Collection and the Hale collection and they have lots of CT probate records, but if you mean someone else's Ancestry tree, please do not use them to update and create profiles.

Be sure to look for your ancestor (think alternate spellings and estimated dates) before creating new profiles that are pre-1700. There is a good chance they are already here.

Please if you have questions, ask. G2G is also a good place to ask questions. Use the connecticut tag

Thanks, Anne. I obviously have a lot to learn. Let me try this again.
