I can find your grandfather https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Powell-13086 but there isn't much to work from, on his profile, and since Muriel is a private profile, I can't see anything, or do much, for her either.
It would really help if you added information, with places and dates, like estimated birthdates, and additional family member names to the profiles. An obituary would be fantastic. The more information you put down, the easier.
Assuming your grandfather Gary is the son of a Gary Powell, born somewhere in Canada, between 1920 and 1950, I can't find anything on FamilySearch. Also assuming your grandmother is Muriel Batten, born in Newfoundland, some time in the 1940s, I can't find her on FamilySearch or Newfoundland's Grand Banks site: http://ngb.chebucto.org/
There was a single Muriel Batten I could find, born 1945, in Port De Grave to Lemuel and Rebecca Batten https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QK9Z-VJ8C but Lemuel and Rebecca died in Port de Grave http://ngb.chebucto.org/Cemetery/cem-uc-church-uc-bareneed-pdg.shtml so this doesn't match what little of her history you've told us.
