Doug, You now have three questions running about the same family. This just confuses people. It would be better if you chose one of the questions as a gathering point for all of the responses and closed the other two. If you can give us the furthest back person that you have sourced evidence for on this line it will give a better starting point to help you. Can you give us a link to the profile of your furthest back researched Marquet ancestor?
I can only go back to John Marquette,Government of Canada,Library and Archives Canada surname marquet, given name john.occupation.cooper.gender male, age 68 census of 1871 ontario.birth ontario.religion episcopal methodist.ethnic orgin french, district name dundas, district number71,sub-district name mountain.sub district number e,division number 1,page number 32 microfilm c-100006.reference rg31-statistics canada iten number 326625,Im looking for his mother and fatherà
OK. If his ethnic origin was French then why were you asking us to look for his father in England? Do you have some other information that would suggest the next generation back came from England rather than France?
No you put me on the path of England, with james marquet being born in England 1773
I don’t think I did, but whatever the reasons you started looking at England I think you should also consider that with French origins you might have more success looking for his parents in France.
There comes a point in every family line when the line stops because no records exist .  The descendants of American slaves can go no further back than the 1870 census and even that isn't dependable because Southern white census takers were very diligent in their surveys.

That's the answer I got from one of my questions

If you are referring to Amy’s answer to your first question I think she was actually trying to explain to you that you might be looking at the wrong person. Maybe you need to rethink and look more closely at what she said.

Doug, I agree with Lynda : You have too many questions about the same family. I suggest to keep one and close the others.

If I understand, we start with the Census of Canada 1871 ...

Marquet John, age 68, Birth Ontario, Origin French (= Québec ?)
Mary his wife, age 58, Birth Ontario, Origin French (= Québec) ?)
Children: Edward 20 , Joseph 18, Lucinda 10

So, nothing about England here
