You would have a category for USS Spence and a category for how the death occured (is it KIA if the ship sunk?). You can add this to any and all profiles created for men who were aboard when the ship went down.

Category: USS Spence (DD-512), United States Navy, World War II

The story of the ship going down in a typhoon might best be told on a free-space page.

There is already a category for Lost at Sea.

This would be the cause of death along with the category for the USS Spence, which was created today.
