Seeking sources for anything about this woman, including her origins and the name of her husband. It's not likely he was Stephen Joseph, but perhaps either Stephen or Joseph Pollard.

Thanks.

Joseph Pollard's will and information on his descendants is found in the following article on JSTOR:

Clarke, Mary Pollard. “The Will of Joseph Pollard of King and Queen County, Virginia.” The William and Mary Quarterly, vol. 2, no. 3, 1922, pp. 162–166. JSTOR, JSTOR, www.jstor.org/stable/1916064.

Joseph names a daughter "Anne Taylor" in the will.

In part the article says:  "Joseph Pollard, the maker of the will here published, was a son of Robert Pollard, of King and Queen Co., Va, who received from the King a grant of land in St. Stephens Parish near Tuckahoe Swamp in said county.  Joseph lived in King and Queen County until 1751 and them moved to Goochland.....He married Priscilla Hoomes, of Caroline....

And the following from a book published in 1908, called "King and Queen County, Virginia"  digitized on Ancestry

By John Pollard, Sr, 1870

A chart of the Pollard family so far as I have any historical account of them, and more particularly my branch of the family:

My great-grandfather, Joseph Pollard, was born, so far as I can ascertain, in the County of King and Queen and raised his family there.  In 1754, when 67 years of age, as I have been informed by my father, he moved to the County of Goochland,-- consequently he must have been born about the year 1687.  He married Miss Priscilla Hoomes, of Caroline County, and had nine children, two son and seven daughters.

Thanks, Kathryn.

Does this mean we should remove "Stephen" from his name?
Mm... wait a sec; the attached profile links to Anne Hughes, wife of Stephen Joseph Pollard. No Priscilla Hoomes... are we talking about a different family?
Kathryn, I think you're talking about:

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Pollard-914
Yes, I think Pollard-914 is the real person.  The only Joseph or Stephen Joseph Pollard I could find was the one who was in Goochland County in 1754. Pollard-135 appears to be a duplicate or mish-mash of the actual Joseph Pollard, Pollard-814 - who was married to Priscilla, not to a woman named "Anne Hughes."  I don't find any evidence for the existence of anyone named "John Hughes" in Jamestown or early Maryland.  There is a "John Hughes" whose death is recorded in Middlesex County, VA in 1718.  It's more than unlikely that this was a man born in England in 1615. A man named John Hughes came to Virginia about 1650, but I don't find any land patent for him prior to 1666.  Most of the documents I find attached to “John Rice Hughes” on the Internet are clearly related to the real man, the first Rice Hooe or his son of the same name.
Okay, forgive me; I'm having difficulty translating all this. What do we need to do here? Do I understand that we should merge Stephen Joseph Pollard away into Pollard-914 and detach Anne Hughes as his spouse (or merge her away into Priscilla Hoomes?

And that John Hughes, the trader, should not have any spouse or children attached to him?
I don’t think there’s any evidence that Stepen Pollard exists, and he seems to have some if the attributes of the real Joseph, so yes, I would merge.  I don’t know who Ann might be or if she existed in any form.  Also no evidence of a ‘Trader’ Hughes in this time and place, so I would detach him.
